Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius partnered with local artist Chloe Ip for its first charity auction. The auction benefited the Eastern Welfare Association for the Disabled (EWAD), an organization that provides schooling for children with physical and mental disabilities from low-income families.
The auction raised 40,000 Mauritian rupees (about US $1,137) for EWAD, which will go toward paying for a full-time physiotherapist. On March 15, Gabriele Lombardo, general manager of the resort, and colleagues from the resort presented a donation cheque from the auction to teachers and students from EWAD.
Shangri-La’s Le Touessrok Resort & Spa, Mauritius has partnered EWAD as the resort’s Embrace beneficiary for the next five years. Our resort colleagues look forward to the developing relationship and seeing the children grow happily.
Chloe Ip, known for her mixed media art and pop art, donated several original paintings with a whimsical enchanted forest theme to honor children’s creativity and imaginations.
